The Country

Honduras is located in Central America where it's bordered by Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador, the Gulf of Honduras, and the Gulf of Fonseca. In 2018, Honduras has an estimated population of 9.42 million, which ranks 87th in the world.

The Republic of Honduras has a land mass of 112,492 square kilometres (43,278 square miles) making it the 102nd largest country with regards to surface area alone. For every square kilometre of Honduran territory, there is an average of 64 people here which equates to 166 per square mile and makes Honduras the 128th most densely populated country in the world today.

Unlike other Central American nations, Honduras is the only one with an urban population that is distributed between two large centers: the capital of Tegucigalpa and the city of San Pedro Sula.

Currently, Honduras has one of the largest and most up-to-date telecommunications infrastructures. As of 2018, three (3) fiber cable providers serve the country, providing Honduras with over 99% redundancy and minimal brown or blackouts. Honduran real estate developers have been active, developing world class free trade zones, where BPO and contact centers can open operations, and benefit from fiscal incentives such as tax exemptions which positively impact the cost structure.
